Who are Ophthalmic Professionals?
The OP members of the FOA represent ancillary personnel in the ophthalmic profession. This includes optometric technicians and assistants, contact lens technicians, opticians, optical technicians, administrative personnel and third party specialists.
Who is Eligible for OP Membership?
Membership as an Ophthalmic Professional of the FOA is open to any person employed in the ophthalmic profession.

Certification Programs
Certification programs are becoming a benchmark for employers to determine the skill level and qualifications of potential employees. Maintaining your certification is critical. One of the requirements for maintaining certification is to earn continuing education credits.
AOA Paraoptometric, ABO/NCLE and Florida Department of Health Board of Opticianry certification requirements can be acquired by attending programs offered by the FOA.
OP CE seminars are announced on the FOA website, in the FOA Newsmagazine and direct mailings. Members will receive all program brochures.
