Dr. Alice Sterling is currently seeking election to the Florida House of Representatives in District 33. She is a Central Florida native where she currently practices as Clinical Director at the Winter Springs branch of the Florida Eye Clinic.
Dr. Sterling previously served on FOA's Legislative Committee and on AOA's Political Action Committee. Governor Jeb Bush appointed Dr. Sterling to the Florida Board of Optometry in 2002, and reappointed her in 2005. Dr. Sterling served as Board Chair for two years (2007-2008). She also serves as Committeewoman for the Seminole County Republican Executive Committee. She has been recognized for her service including being named Florida Optometrist of the Year by FOA.
As a lifelong resident of Central Florida, she has been active in the community including her past position as Chair of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. As a volunteer doctor, she has dedicated service to the Coalition for the Homeless, Lighthouse Central Florida, Prevent Blindness of Florida, Lions' Club Right to Sight, and the Jeppesen Vision Quest.
